Abstract
El presente trabajo es el resultado de la investigación etnográfica llevada a cabo entre los grupos indígenas tunebos, en la República de Colombia.
Doña Alicia Dussán de Reichel, ilustre antropóloga colombiana,clasificó a los tunebos como "tribus poco conocidas y amenazadas con sufrir próximamente modificaciones en su cultura que necesitan investigación etnológica urgente" (11). Esta comunidad vive hoy en regiones apartadas y ha conservado en mayor o menor grado sus tradiciones y costumbres,, huyendo siempre de las influencias del blanco, por el sistema de cambiar sus poblados o viviendas a lugares más inaccesibles y escondidos a medida que las carreteras y las fundaciones de colonos se, van adentrandoen su territorio.
