Abstract
Con profunda nostalgia pero con un recuerdo todavía cálido y cerca-
no, dedicamos las primeras líneas de esta reseña de la Vida en la Facultad, durante el semestre que acaba de transcurrir, para honrar la memoria de Gustavo González Sánchez S.J., inesperadamente fallecido el día 21 de marzo de 1974.
Gustavo González fue ante todo un pensador de mente aguda e inquieta dedicado a bucear incansablemente y en insobornable actitud crítica por todas las direcciones y profundidades del revuelto mar del pensamiento y de la cultura contemporáneos. Hombre de recias y, en ocasiones, hasta rígidas convicciones, buscó por todos los medios tender un puente entre la tradición cultural del Cristianismo, vivida a través de su asimilación e interpretación de los grandes autores medievales, y el pensamiento contemporáneo cuyas raíces más profundas trataba de hallar a través de lo que él solía denominar el largo proceso de secularización de la cultura occidental, iniciado en los albores de la Edad Moderna.
