Abstract
Quizás una de las diferencias que existen entre los filósofos antiguos y los de hoy está en que aquéllos se preocupaban con cierta frecuencia de la filosofía en sí, mientras que los modernos y contemporáneos apenas unas pocas veces se han planteado el problema de la tarea filosófica en cuanto tal. No quiero negar que los tratados filosóficos abundan, ni que van surgiendo nuevas corrientes. Pero a pesar de ello, no podemos hablar del progreso de la filosofía en medida semejante a como lo hacemos con respecto a las otras ciencias. Es más que evidente que el quehacer filosófico no se concibe como una profesión determinada y que prácticamente se descarta de todo panorama científico.
