Abstract
Nuestro objetivo en el presente trabajo es doble: hacer una incursión en el campo reciente de la antropología política y demostrar, además, que la antropología no tiene por qué reducirse a toda costa a las llamadas culturas primitivas. Precisamente el tema investigado, relaciones entre poder político y religión, nos demuestra que los análisis hechos a partir de culturas "primitivas" son aplicables, sin forzar las interpretaciones, a culturas contemporáneas como es el caso de la cultura de una sociedad industrializada como Bogotá. De este modo se da una validez científica mayor a los objetivos y métodos de la antropología política.
