Abstract

Este artículo defiende la tesis de que la lectura crítica que hace Foucault de la obra de Marx se encuentra mediada por los trabajos de Louis Althusser. El autor explora tres ámbitos conceptuales en lo que puede ser apreciada la influencia de Althusser sobre Foucault: la historia, la ideología y el poder. Al final, el autor señala que la lectura que hace Foucault a través del lente de Althusser muestra a Marx no tanto como el fundador de una nueva ciencia, sino como el pensador que fue capaz de mostrar, por vez primera, el modo en que las sociedades modernas empiezan a generar sus propias condiciones de existencia a partir de imperativos de biopolítica y control.
