Abstract
Los espacios de creación artística contemporánea cuyo fin es la recuperación de herencias y raíces culturales, ponen en evidencia el papel de los intelectuales en la construcción de identidades emergentes en contextos globales y desterritorializados. Odantalan, un taller de creación e improvisación musical realizado en Luanda (Angola) es, sin lugar a dudas, uno de estos espacios. El objetivo de este taller es fortalecer una identidad cultural a partir del encuentro con los legados musicales y simbólicos del pueblo bakongo reproducidos en el Nuevo Mundo. Esta ponencia expone el ejercicio etnográfico que se llevó a cabo en Odantalan. Así, -cuestionando la búsqueda de huellas ancestrales en medio del afán por la negociación del legado colonial-, dicha exposición se centra en los organizadores e "intelectuales" de este proyecto y su discurso sobre la creación artística, los intereses simbólicos y las identidades de los músicos participantes.
