Abstract
El presente artículo esta dividido en dos partes, en la primera, se hace una reflexión acerca de la ciencia y la tecnología como procesos sociales; se parte señalando que tratar lo científico y lo tecnológico como entidades cerradas, a lo sumo influenciadas por elementos sociales, puede llevar a reacciones extremas y no deja la posibilidad de comprender su plena dimensión de actividades humanas; para su mejor comprensión se señalan dos elementos, la no separación de lo científico y lo tencológico, y la no neutralidad de estos ámbitos. En la segunda, ilustrando a través de la noción de riesgo, se plantea que concebir la ciencia y tecnología como procesos sociales ayuda a comprender de una manera más acabada fenómenos característicos de las sociedades contemporáneas.This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public, encourages greater global exchange of knowledge.
