Abstract
En este artículo se quiere presentar un marco interpretativo desde el cual se puede hacer la lectura de la problemática ambiental y su relación con el desarrollo, usando como referente el concepto de cultura. Se parte del supuesto de entender la cultura como una estrategia adaptativa particular de la especie humana, mediante la cual el hombre ha logrado históricamente satisfacer sus necesidades y garantizar su supervivencia como especie, aunque muchas poblaciones en particular no lo hayan logrado.
