Abstract
El presente artículo hace un recorrido por las diferentes tendencias teóricas que han existido en la antropología para estudiar la relación entre sociedad y entorno. Conecta estos cambios teóricos con las modificaciones del concepto de cultura que ha sucedido en la antropología. Comienza describiendo las tendencias denominadas determinismo ambiental y después pasa a explicar las tendencias que se llaman determinismo cultural, que están fundamentadas en la idea constructivista de la cultura.
