Abstract
La ponencia sobre "El uso de las plantas en la salud humana y animal en Boyacá" describe una experiencia de investigaión particiativa, realizada conjuntamente por un grupo de promotores campesinos, una parte del equipo de técnicos de salud de la Fundación San Isidro y un grupo de Investigadores del Programa de Investigación de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas de la Universidad Javeriana.
La investigación tiene como eje la recuperación del conocimiento que todavía existe, sobre la utilización de las plantas en prácticas curativas en comunidades rurales del Departamento. La transmisión de este saber a las nuevas generaciones se ha debilitado por múltiples razones. A través de la investigación participativa en la que los promotores campesinos son a la vez sujeto y objeto, se pretende no sólo recuperar dicho saber sino que en el proceso estos se capaciten y estrechen lazos con la comunidad a la que serán devueltos los resultados de la investigación.
