Abstract
Esta la síntesis de la conferencia dictada por la autora en el Seminario Sobre Antropología de la Familia, acerca de la investigación llevada a cabo sobre la familia de hecho en Colombia, en los años 1981-1983.
A lo largo de la conferencia, habló sobre el desarrollo de la investigación, los objetivos que se plantearon, las hipótesis y los problemas de orden metodológico que se le formularon, resaltando la importancia de este tipo de investigaciones en el país y los problemas de carácter jurídico que ofrece este tipo de familia. Para terminar, presenta una tipología de la familia de hecho y las características de las estructuras familiares, nuclear y extensa en Colombia.
