Abstract
Este articulo presenta un análisis etno-histórico de la región de la Guajira.
El periodo escogido -1900 - 1935-, coincide con la definitiva especialización del país como exportador de café y su desarrollo a partir de ésta.
¿Qué ocurrió entonces con las regiones marginadas de tal proceso? Es la pregunta que nos lleva a tratar de establecer las modificaciones
ocurridas en la vida regional y de los indios guajiros en dicho periodo por efecto de la historia local y global del país:
