Resumo
Este artigo examina o poder de codificação dos desenhos como veículos para a conceituação etnográfica. Ao comparar um conjunto de desenhos coletados pelo autor na Amazônia Ocidental com ilustrações de guias de campo científicos, este texto explora como as imagens de animais fazem mais do que apenas representar espécies. Em vez disso, argumenta-se que os desenhos representam ativamente versões específicas da natureza. Ao fazer isso, eles não apenas abrem possibilidades para a compreensão da natureza, mas também estabelecem limites sobre como ela pode ser percebida e experimentada.
