Abstract
The new Consumer Protection Law in Colombia regulates distance selling, particularly electronic commerce. The purpose of this article is to analyze the problems around this type of negotiation and weather it needs a specific regulation. Although distance selling represents a series of advantages for the customers, it also implies many risks which the law has to face in order to protect the customers from the abuse of this type of contracts and incentivize the electronic commerce that in Colombia is situated far behind other countries.
