Abstract
El tema del Don Juan será por siempre una bella y sugestiva imagen para la creación artística. Pero cuando este tema es abordado por S. Kierkegaard, el personaje adquiere una nueva y más profunda dimensión. Lejos de ser un simple y banal seductor, el Don Juan Kierkegaardiano encierra una profunda fuerza dramática y alcanza una autenticidad incomparable. Este Don Juan es la plasmacián simbólica de las ideas kierkegaardianas acerca del problema de lo estético. Frente a cualquier otro Don Juan —aún el de Mozart o Don Juan Tenorio de Zorrilla—, este Juan el Seductor que consigna silenciosamente en su Diario la evocación poética de sus aventuras amorosas, da, de manera rotunda, el verdadero sentido a la ironía: su meticuloso plan de seducción, es simplemente un medio para profundizar en su propia interioridad; su simpatía y expansividad no son más que un engaño irónico de los otros mientras él en su soledad, sabe de la imposibilidad de burlar su propia desesperanza y melancolía. El "Diario de un Seductor" debe ser leído desde su verdadera perspectiva intrínseca que es la superación irónica del mundo real exterior; si no se tiene en cuenta esta perspectiva, se desconoce su valor.
