Abstract
Based on an interpretative philosophical approach, this text aims to study the scope and limitations of the critical reading model proposed by the Ministry of National Education of Colombia.
To address the above, first of all, we study how critical reading tests are designed and what it means to interpret a text. Secondly, it discusses the importance of critical reading for the promotion of practical wisdom, and thirdly, it affirms why it is important to conceive of reading as a formative experience from creative and plural perspectives.
