Abstract

Digital television will have an imminent deployment inthe next coming years, and considering that interactivityis one of the main advantages of this kind of systems, it isrequired a study of the usability of interactive applicationsin which the user actively participates during the transmissionof a television program. Therefore it is necessaryto find the best way to design usable applications ininteractive Digital Television environments (iTV). Thispaper presents a set of guidelines supporting design ofusable applications in iTV environments, which have beenproposed from a set of usability evaluations conducted atthe Digital Television Laboratory of the Universidad del Cauca (Colombia).
