Resumo

O debate teórico sobre a relação estratégia‑estrutura apresenta no mínimo três correntes explicativas. Porém, esta relação não se tem estudado no contexto de uma crise, como a do COVID-19, nem nas instituições de educação superior (IES). Do ponto de vista do modelo de negócios e desde a estratégia, e sua relação com a inovação organizacional, se analisaram os planos de desenvolvimento institucional (PDI) e se realizaram entrevistas semiestruturadas, com o modelo Connectivity Humanness and Empathy (CHE), em 11 IES na Colômbia. Os resultados mostram que as IES não mudaram seu modelo de negócios. Mas conseguiram implementar em poucas semanas uma estratégia projetada para vários anos, mediante inovações organizacionais que as direcionam para a transformação digital.
