Cada día, para obtener una mirada furtiva de su amada, el joven Florentino Ariza iba al parque de los Evangelios y fingía leer poemas sentado a la sombra de los almendros, desde el escaño menos visible de los que rodeaban la estatua de un héroe decapitado.
