Abstract
El presente artículo gira en torno al altamente discutido y teorizado uso del “yo” en la obra de Vallejo. A través de una cuidadosa comparación entre el “yo” narrativo de Vallejo en sus novelas y la voz que narra sus biografías, Lander indaga en la supuesta realidad ficticia de Vallejo. Además de ofrecer una historia sin precedentes de la publicación de las biografías de Porfirio Barba Jacob, José Asunción Silva y Rufino José Cuervo en las que trabajó Vallejo por años, el estudio de Lander ofrece un lúcido comentario sobre el juego entre la auto-ficción y los límites de la biografía en su obra. Lander concluye que las tácticas narrativas de Vallejo, a lo largo de tres décadas, han construido una imagen autorial duradera que intensifica su alteridad a través de la hibridez narrativa.
