Abstract
Carmen Vincenti centra su atención crítica en los adeptos del presidente venezolano Hugo Chávez Frías, dentro del marco de la aguda crisis política que atraviesa el país suramericano desde 1998. Considerando las diversas tramas históricas de un imaginario cultural que da cuenta de la "morfología del venezolano" -la baja auto estima, el patemalismo, el caudillismo, el heroísmo bolivariano y las mitologías revolucionarias de los años sesenta del siglo XX, entre otros-, Vincenti discute la formación de una patología colectiva anclada en el autocastigo de una nación por sus propias incapacidades históricas y culturales, y cuya representación simbólica se encuentra cifrada en la aparente fuerza política de Chávez.Cuadernos de Literatura is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
