Abstract
En regiones ecológicamente marginales de Argentina, se observa un marcado avance del capitalismo agrario a través de la expansión de la agricultura industrial, en áreas anteriormente ocupadas por la ganadería bovina y caprina. Este proceso es particularmente importante en el Norte y Oeste de la provincia de Córdoba, donde predominaban las actividades productivas desarrolladas por campesinos. Partiendo de un estudio de caso realizado en el departamento de Río Seco Córdoba, Argentina, se analizó el impacto de la expansión de la agricultura industrial en las estrategias campesinas. Los resultados muestran una fuerte intensificación en el uso del suelo. La agriculturización afecta la biodiversidad, genera concentración económica, modifica y debilita las estrategias campesinas y favorece la descampesinización. A expensas de los ecosistemas nativos y de las comunidades campesinas, se está consumando una de las mayores transformaciones de capital natural a capital económico en la historia de la región.Cuadernos de Desarrollo Ruralis registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
