Abstract
En el Hospital La Granja se realizó una investigación con 52 madres y sus recién nacidos con el fin de establecer el efecto de cuatro procedimientos para el cuidado del muñón umbilical. Para tal fin se utilizaron dos tipos de sustancias antisépticas (Alcohol Yodado e Isodine Solución), con dos frecuencias de aplicación por solución en 24 horas. Se logró determinar que el grupo tratado con alcohol yodado y aplicado en una frecuencia de una vez por día, produce la cicatrización y caída en menor tiempo y sin complicación, en comparación con los otros grupos.
