Abstract
This article aims to do a critical discourse analysis on the “Ruta Futuro” drug policy, which was proposed and executed by Ivan Duque’s government between 2018 and 2022. The political and cultural differentiation made towards the subjectivities the policy addresses is the nuclear element of analysis. In the analysis exercise, this policy is problematized from an imbrication focus between race, social class, gender, and sexuality, which allows to deepen on power relations established in the discourses and practices that derive from this government directive. Through two of the five policy “pillars”: Reducing drug consumption and its impact and Reducing Drug Availability, it is possible to showcase both the addressing and tensions in terms of illegal substances production and consumption, as well as the differentiation of the policy’s intervention subjects.
