Abstract

The University City of Mexico (1949-1954) and its inclusion to the unesco World Heritage List (2007), as “New sites of the worldheritage: procedures and challenges”, declaratory of the 2001 and forward. Resumes the main aspects of the generation anddevelopment of the original site through analytic texts of architecture and urbanism, profusely illustrated, with the intentionof locating the reader into the context. It comprehends the necessary activities for the institution, Universidad Nacional Autónomade México, and the country, previous to the appliance for the inclusion to the list, the steps before the Internationalorganization and the approval.Includes recommendations for its permanence and the revision of certain errors committed in the maintenance of the site thathave to be rectified. It also manifests the need to reinforce the quality of the interventions for its preservation, attending thenorms, uses and costumes currently in force to the moment of its conception, making of the project and edification. It’s recommendedthe creation of an expert’s commission with permanent character to endeavor the respect to the original postulates,and advice constructors and restorers in the way of achieving this.
