Abstract
The preservation and valorization of the cultural heritage of the Guarani Jesuit missions in Brazil, in general corresponds to the historic, technical and conceptual evolution of the federal institution for protection of cultural heritage, iphan. This paper presents a synthesis of this evolution at the sites that, as a result of the definition of the present borders among the new republican nations, belong to Brazil since the beginning of the nineteenth century.Apuntes is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
