Abstract
In this article, we present a theoretical reflection about the meaning of psychopathology in the context of human projects of life. This reflection is partially based upon the findings of four qualitative case studies about the understanding of the experience of anxiety. In this way, we clarify the existential foundations implicit in psychopathology, and we also perform an epistemological analysis on the way human beings could existentially approach psychopathology, in order to comprehend symptoms properly, bearing in mind some important concepts, such as intentionality and the meaning of the experience for the person who is living the psychopathological symptoms.This journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
