Abstract
Este estudio tuvo como objetivo principal indagar la relación entre el patrón de conducta Tipo C y el cáncer de mama, a través de un diseño analítico observacional de casos y controles. Se establecieron tres grupos de variables: demográficas, médicas y factores de riesgo, incluyendo en estas últimas el patrón Tipo C, para tres grupos: a) mujeres con cáncer de mama, b) mujeres con cáncer de cervix, y c) mujeres sanas. La variable de respuesta ‘tener cáncer de mama’ está determinada según los resultados, por los antecedentes familiares de la enfermedad, haber recibido terapia de reemplazo hormonal, los antecedentes de cáncer de endometrio u ovario, y la edad de las participantes. Se concluye que el patrón de conducta, tal y como está planteado hasta el momento, se relaciona más con un estilo de afrontamiento hacia la enfermedad, que como un tipo de personalidad premórbida, y se proponen nuevos factores con base en las teorías de los cinco factores y del temperamento y carácter.This journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
