Abstract
Culture continuously impacts the way human beings adapt to their particular social group. This is due to the fact that it establishes models that determine the property of emotional expression, the way to interpret situations and the correct behavior for each ecosystem (Bruner, 1986). One of the most important contributions of Díaz-Guerrero (1967, 2003) is the idea that a socio-culture is a system of interrelated beliefs that regulate feelings, ideas, personal relationships, social roles, interaction rules among individuals and situations. To assess the socio-cultural rules and beliefs of emotional expressions, we designed and validated five measures of historic-socio-cultural premises of emotional expression (PHSC’sEE Premisas Historico-socioculturales de la Expresión Emocional in Spanish) of happiness, love, sadness, anger and fear. Findings show the existence of five valid and reliable tests that allow us to recognize conceptually clear and statistically robust factorial onfigurations depicting emotions in the Mexican cultureThis journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
