Abstract
The objective of this study is to analyze whether there are statistically significant relationships between alcohol consumption and an increase in gambling in university students. The amount and frequency of alcohol consumption and the amount and frequency of participation in the game were evaluated in the form of variables in a sample of 245 participants belonging to various university centers. The data were collected through the “Survey on Alcohol and Drugs in Spain 2017 (EDADES)” and the analysis was carried out by studying the bivariate correlations between the previous variables. Regarding the results, statistically significant relationships were obtained between the variables studied, that is, a change in one of the variables allows predicting a change in the other, and vice versa. With this, the correlation that may exist between the numerous addictions is evidenced, transmitting the need to create awareness and prevention programs against drugs in young university students.
