Resumen

Introducción: El cáncer impacta significativamente a los pacientes en las esferas física, psicológica y espiritual. Los tratamientos para el cáncer pueden generar estrés y afectar la calidad de vida, por lo que se resalta la importancia de los cuidados complementarios. Entre estos, la terapia con arte se destaca por reducir el estrés y la ansiedad, y mejorar la eficacia del tratamiento y la calidad de vida. Objetivo: Identificar cuál es el efecto de la terapia con museos en el manejo de los síntomas adicionales de los pacientes con diagnóstico de cáncer en la literatura disponible. Método: Búsqueda de literatura hasta noviembre del 2023 en las bases de datos (Pubmed, Embase y Scopus) con los términos cáncer, quimioterapia, terapias no farmacológicas, beneficios, percepción, cualitativo, arte y calidad de vida. Resultados: Los enfoques complementarios, como la terapia artística y la prescripción social con museos, ofrecen espacios terapéuticos que mejoran esos síntomas no abordados por terapias convencionales, y logran mejorar la calidad de vida y fomentar un enfoque holístico en el cuidado del paciente con cáncer. Conclusiones: El arte actúa como medio que permite expresar y conectar experiencias relacionadas con la enfermedad, promoviendo la esperanza y mejorando la calidad de vida. Las terapias basadas en arte han demostrado optimizar la sintomatología y aumentar el bienestar integral y la calidad de vida de los pacientes con cáncer. Esto, a su vez, puede ayudar en la adherencia a las terapias médicas y la respuesta al tratamiento.
