Abstract

Starting from a larger and ongoing research project in which some concepts that identify the possible representation that communication makes of itself are analyzed, this work studies the constant adoption of the concept created by Guy Debord in works of an academic nature . Although it is not proposed as a theoretical basis for communication, it is observed that the society of the spectacle has been identified as the conceptual matrix and, perhaps, the essential and indispensable cause of communicative visibility. The work starts from the analysis of this concept to identify the multiple inferences that arise from it and its historical, theoretical, cultural and political transformations.
