Abstract
Este ensayo trata del problema de la verosimilitud, en el cine, la televisión y las presentaciones de video, de un tipo particular de imágenes mentales: la memoria. El artículo utiliza teorías del cine clásicas y contemporáneas, la psicología contemporánea y una apreciación histórica global de la fenomenología de las imágenes de la memoria. El ensayo sostiene que cualquier aumento en la exactitud de las representaciones del cine ayudaría a la ciencia cognoscitiva contemporánea, así como a artistas tales como Stan Brakhage, decano del cine vanguardista americano. Finalmente, el ensayo termina relacionando estas preocupaciones con el concepto de "símbolo" de Ferdinand de Saussure, muchas veces ignorado.This journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
