Abstract

Multisectoral alliances to face complex social problems conform an area of institutional functioning and consolidated study. However, analyzes of communication in such dynamics are not frequent and they are part of a wide range of topics related to the multisectoral phenomenon. Four cases that took place in Cali (Colombia), between 2012 and 2017, have been characterized and compared, with an emphasis on communication ideas and practices, through interviews and secondary information. A multidimensional analytical model has been applied to the participants, leadership, alignment of objectives, institutionalization, coping with change, sense of link, symbolic management, participation, conceptual perspectives, force relations, management of communication, equity in the visibility of achievements, the generation of value and the adoption of foreign theories. Communication is a highly valued practice, a practical sense, but it is an informative and participatory practice as well, however it is an implicit dimension of collaboration.
