Abstract
The article shows the results of the research entitled Weaving alternative English training scenarios with young people from Vista Hermosa-Meta, Colombia, developed during the second semester of 2021 and the first semester of 2022. The general objective was to weave together alternative scenarios of English training with young people from Vista Hermosa-Meta. It seeks to question the field of English teaching to find alternative ways of knowing, being, doing and existing in other ways in the periphery (Walsh, 2013).
Through Participatory Action Research, a pedagogically thinkable exercise that deepens into an Other teaching experience, where knowledge, languages, discourses and experiences are interwoven, is proposed. The conclusions highlight the coexistence of the two languages as the essential element that gives rise to the creation of border discourses where young people managed to recognize themselves in other ways and relate to others from new places of enunciation.
