Abstract
multiplicación de las grandes ciudades como espacios de vida donde habita el individuo cosmopolita. La migración periferia y centro, cargada de expectativas y ambiciones, trae «mundos» que buscan un puesto en la ciudad. Llegan individuos con sus atuendos, sus ritos y sus costumbres. Lo urbano se transforma y se acomoda, la movilidad social crece, se segmentan los roles, se potencíala subjetividad individual, la diferenciación social se hace fuerte y los vínculos primarios se debilitan. Paralelamente se multiplican los sueños acompañados también por un sinnúmero de problemas. Las diversas identidades se cruzan, se «híbrida» la cultura.
Santafé de Bogotá, capital del país y centro urbano con la mayor diversidad cultural, es una ciudad en expansión donde se mezclan y coexisten prácticas sociales originadas en diferentes regiones. Los constantes desplazamientos humanos, no sólo del campó ala ciudad sino al interior de la ciudad misma, hacen que puedan converger en el Distrito Capital los típicos problemas de una ciudad en desarrollo. La desvinculación de individuos y grupos de los procesos de participación ciudadana, la marginalidad y la falta de adecuadas redes de soporte social son factores que deterioran la calidad de vida de muchos habitantes de la capital del país.
