Abstract
Esta noche voy a hablar sobre un tema bastante general, que son las características o rasgos distintivos de la literatura japonesa. Y de paso quiero señalar semejanzas que existen entre la literatura japonesa y la española. Curiosamente, la literatura japonesa y la española tienen muchos rasgos en común. Sin embargo, que yo sepa, hasta la fecha nadie ha indicado las semejanzas, debido al hecho, a mi entender, de que los estudiosos de la literatura española no han prestado suficiente atención a nuestra literatura. O más bien, aunque quisieran, no podrían hacerlo fácilmente, porque lo intrincado de la lengua japonesa impide, las más de las veces, que lleguen a nuestra literatura en su forma original. Ahora me acuerdo de haber leído en algún libro que uno de los misioneros que llegaron al Japón en el siglo 16 lamentaba que el idioma japonés fuera la lengua del diablo porque con su dificultad estorbaba la evangelización.
