Abstract
El presente artículo tiene como objetivo principal resolver algunos cuestionamientos comunes que se presentan en un posible análisis lingüístico de la Literatura. En este caso, después de presentar algunas ideas sobre lo que podría ser el análisis literario a partir de la Lingüística y ejemplificarlas con el poema "El Caribe" de Nicolás Guillen, se intenta dar respuesta a los siguientes cuestionamientos: el problema de la denotación y connotación del lenguaje; las posibilidades que tiene la Lingüística de explicar también la connotación; la linealidad del lenguaje y la extensión de la unidad de análisis en la Lingüística.
El presente trabajo abre la posibilidad de entrar en la discusión necesaria que permita establecer finalmente un método de análisis de la obra literaria en cuan to ésta está determinada por la estructura lingüística.
