Abstract
Diversidad del lenguaje en la época — El lenguaje de los individuos que hablan la misma lengua no es uniforme; por el contrario, presenta diversidad, de acuerdo con las regiones (factor geográfico); con las edades de los usuarios del sistema lingüístico común (factor diacrónico); con la ocupación, categoría social, sexo. . . de los hablantes (factores de orden social). El hablar cuotidiano difiere de la lengua literaria; la lengua familiar, de la lengua culta y de la académica (niveles de lengua). Además suelen presentarse diferencias de carácter idiolectal, atinentes a la pronunciación, entonación) léxico, que no pasan de ser individuales. Toda esta gama de variedades del hablar se hace presente en la lengua Castellana analizada en la obra de Valdés.
