Abstract
Como recurso pedagógico, el rótulo de "escuela artística" ha
resultado excelente, pero como concepto es algo falto de rigor,
cuya imprecisión ha servido de base para que los romanticismos na-
cionalistas, siempre sospechosos, monten "historias patrias" del Arte
y de la Literatura. Me refiero, claro está, al sentido más estricto de la
palabra "escuela", vale decir, al conjunto de características comunes
a un grupo de artistas, como consecuencia de agentes externos a ellos
vinculados a una entidad geográfica o histórica condicionadora del
acto creativo. (Ello tiene poco que ver con el estilo de época con el
cual, sin embargo, se sigue confundiendo impropiamente y a me-
nudo).
