Abstract
EL OFICIO DE LAS CIENCIAS SOCIALES
El artículo que abre el presente número de nuestra revista corresponde a la lección inaugural de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales para el año dos mil, ofrecida por el Doctor Germán Rey. En el, se describen los retos a los que se enfrenta hoy una profesionalización de las Ciencias Sociales, aspecto que ha captado con mucha fuerza nuestra reflexión en los últimos años. Al menos tres dimensiones se tienen en cuenta en el artículo mencionado para visualizar el presente y el futuro de esa profesionalización de las Ciencias Sociales: La propia refiguración de su quehacer, la aparición de nuevos actores y nuevas mediaciones que exigen un diseño conceptual diferente y el descentramiento del mundo del trabajo. A estas dimensiones "generales", Rey agrega dos elementos particulares de nuestra situación: el desarrollo de las Ciencias Sociales en el país y lo que llama el autor: "un paisaje social turbulento". De este modo, la Lección Inaugural funciona como marco de la exposición general de la Revista, en la medida en que los artículos centrales pueden leerse como una reflexión y como una muestra del oficio de las Ciencias Sociales hoy.
