Abstract

This article reflects on the artistic practice as a tool to build narratives and question hegemonic discourses, taking as parting point a personal experience in the territory of Mompox (Bolívar), during an artistic residency in 2022. Through an autoethnography, the relationship between art, memory and pedagogy is addressed, exploring how the creation can function as an act of seed (ideas, images, stories) harvesting to preserve and resignify what is at the edge of extinction, like ancestral crafts. The article, structured in four acts, is centered in the myth of smoke and the figure of the potter, underlying the transformative power of art to find light and heat in what seems lost, through research and creation.
