Resumo

Com base nas contribuições de vários autores, neste artigo, propõe-se umadefinição de capacidade organizacional que determina a natureza, as característicase a potencialidade desse conceito. Esta definição sugere uma alternativapara a dificuldade de estabelecer uma tipologia das capacidades organizacionais.Mediante a análise de caso de uma organização, ilustram-se osdois componentes dessa definição: a natureza dialógica da capacidade de governabilidadee a dimensão dual que caracteriza seu exercício. Essa definiçãoproporciona, então, uma base conceitual explícita e coerente para avançar napesquisa sobre capacidades organizacionais.
