Abstract

El presente artículo muestra cómo confluyen la historia del extractivismo cauchero y la del holocausto en Muñecas (2008) de Ariel Magnus. En un primer momento se sitúa a la novela en su doble trayectoria de narrativa del caucho y del trauma. A continuación se especula que un deseo de control absoluto define la relación de los humanos con el caucho; a su vez, ese deseo influiría en el lenguaje literario que representa y eventualmente repara tal relación. Por último, se propone una interpretación transcultural del rol de la así llamada materia “prima” en el materialismo histórico.
