Abstract
¿Qué oculta y, al mismo tiempo, qué nos dice de la Argentina el Mundial de Fútbol de 1978 y la Guerra de las Malvinas en 1982? Las respuestas posibles interrogan de manera crítica, como bien lo demuestra Beatriz Sarlo, la dictadura militar argentina desde el nacionalismo deportivo y territorial. La pasión colectiva que despiertan los mundiales en la Argentina galvaniza la comunión nacional a tal punto que el objeto de esa misma pasión --el fútbol como deporte- se pierde; para dar paso a una pasión por la victoria o la derrota de una nacionalidad.
