Abstract
La cultura de la seguridad del paciente es uno de los pilares sobre los que se sustentan las
políticas para gestionar la calidad de los servicios de salud en Colombia. Teniendo en cuenta
su relevancia se realizó una investigación en tres IPS de Bogotá con el objetivo de caracterizar
las prácticas sociales vinculadas con la cultura de la seguridad del paciente. Este abordaje se
hizo a partir de la teoría de Pierre Bourdieu, la cual permite visibilizar tanto los campos sociales
que configuran los servicios de salud como los
habitus de los agentes. Se concluye que para
realizar cambios importantes en dicha cultura son necesarias modificaciones en las estructuras
sociales del hospital; por tanto, en la distribución del poder, y, además, transformaciones en
los
habitus de sus agentes.
