Abstract
El propósito de esta investigación fue el de determinar desde la sociología, la atención sanitaria
para mujeres colombianas inmigrantes en la ciudad de Valencia (España). Durante el año 2001,
el conjunto de inmigrantes colombianos aumentó en 189,3% con respecto a 1999 y 2000 y en
dónde la tasa de feminización fue mayoritaria con respecto a la de los varones. Durante el 2003,
se hicieron entrevistas con detenimiento a diez mujeres colombianas inmigrantes, a partir de las
cuales se presentaron los análisis que giraron alrededor de las imágenes de la salud y de enfermedad
en el contexto de la inmigración, así como sus experiencias con el servicio público de
salud valenciano. Se consideraron, también, los análisis de las entrevistas realizadas a siete
profesionales del servicio público de salud que tuviesen experiencia laboral con mujeres colombianas
inmigrantes.
