Abstract
El 24 de junio de 2000, la Organización
Mundial de la Salud publicó el Informe que
evaluó los sistemas de salud del mundo con
base en un índice global de desempeño
(WHO, 2000). El Informe tuvo efecto inmediato
y fue discutido en las primeras páginas
de la mayoría de los principales
periódicos y en los noticieros de televisión
del mundo occidental. La Organización
Mundial de la Salud, la agencia de la salud
de las Naciones Unidas, había evaluado los
sistemas de salud del mundo, y cada quien
necesitaba conocer el lugar de su país en la
clasificación.
