Abstract
Objetivo
: obtener información sobre el desempeño de las instituciones prestadoras de servicios
de Salud (IPS) oncológicas.
Materiales y métodos : estudio descriptivo mediante encuestas.
Resultados
: de un total de 73 formularios remitidos a las IPS con servicios oncológicos habilitados
y a las empresas sociales del Estado (ESE) de segundo nivel, se recibieron 42 (57,5 %).
Se evaluaron actividades de consulta externa y se calculó la oferta teórica y la disponibilidad
del talento humano. Se describen los servicios que cuentan con servicio de hospitalización
para pacientes oncológicos y se valoran procedimientos diagnósticos en cáncer, aspectos de
tratamiento y seguimiento.
Conclusiones : los servicios oncológicos en Bogotá son en su gran
mayoría privados. Se evidencia una falta de integración entre las especialidades. La oferta de
servicios actualmente disponible debería ser suficiente para las necesidades presentes, con la
excepción del servicio de cirugía gastrointestinal oncológica.
