Abstract
Mental health problems hav been increasing worldwide, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that by the year 2020 is the second leading cause of disease burden, after ischemic heart disease. Mental health is an aspect of life that can affected by both biological and social factors. In other words, every human being is capable of seeing impaired mental health. However, teenage is the most vulnerable developmental stage facing the continuous and ongoing changes that must be confronted. Taking into account the expected projections of mental disorders, it is important to know the rights of individuals on the issue of health in the Colombian health policy and the way the nurse professionals can help to ensure a better quality of life for adolescents and their families.
